Curtis Mead also contributed to the scoreline. Despite a strong performance from Juan Soto, the Mets struggled again, allowing their batsmen to score seven runs. Cade Cavalli also struck out 10, becoming the first Washington pitcher to do so so in consecutive starts. The series finale will take place on Thursday.
