The actors and writers' representatives, SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, are set to resume discussions on a potential contract extension. The parties aim to reach a tentative deal before the upcoming DGA steps up on May 11. Key issues include AI protections, with SAG executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland expressing optimism about this. However, he is not willing to agree to a longer contract unless the studios also concede more on artificial intelligence. A four-year deal is expected, which would require both actors and the studios to give up a year per their own proposals to meet in the middle.
