UCLA defeated Texas to reach the national championship game after a late comeback effort from the Longhorns. The Bruins, led by Lauren Betts, led the team to a 35-1 season, winning 29 consecutive games and capturing Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. The team avenged their lone loss this season by defeating Texas 51-44. This is the first time the Bruins have reached the Final Four, with coach Cori Close urging them to learn from their previous loss to UConn. The UCLA team also welcomed back seniors Betts and Rice, Gabriela Jaquez, and Angela Dugalic for their final season.
