Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has announced the “So ATL” initiative, aimed at curbing teen takeovers and engaging teens during spring break. The initiative will provide safe activities at local recreation centers and create a dedicated “third space” specifically for young people. The city is also investing $50,000 to create a "third space" for teens. This initiative comes after a recent teen takeover at a Gwinnett County mall resulted in nine arrests and injuries. Police have warned families that such incidents will not be tolerated and parents could face consequences.
