Trotonto's Trey Yesavage is the favorite for the AL Rookie of the Year at sportsbooks ahead of the MLB regular season, with the Toronto Blue Jays' Yesavage, ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the sport by MLB.com, saw three regular-season starts for the reigning AL champions last season and was 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 14 innings. However, FanGraphs projects Yesavage to finish 7-5 with an ERA in 128.0 innings. There are concerns that Yesavage might have a limited workload in 2026 due to his recent minor league performance. The winner will likely be Japanese third baseman Kazuma Okamoto or Astros pitcher Yasuki Imai, who was limited to 69 games last season due to injury.
