Record warmth builds into New Mexico by the end of this week

The showers and thunderstorms across New Mexico are expected to clear out tonight, leading to a potential record-breaking high temperatures by the end of the week. A cold front is expected to move into eastern New Mexico from the northeast and could bring wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph. This will be followed by a large ridge of high pressure across the Southwest, which will continue to rise. The Albuquerque Metro could see temperatures reaching the 80s, while parts of southern New Mexico may reach the 90s.
