A Maine Coon kitten named Lotus has been discovered with the rare'sand and sea' split-face coloring, which is more common in some kitty breeds like Tortoiseshells and is considered chimerism by experts. This rare breed of cat is said to be a "once-in-a-lifetime" find. The split coloring, usually caused by two fertilized embryos combining into one, is considered rare in around 1% of felines and rare in a Maine CoON. Lotus' unique markings are highly coveted and rare. If she is still looking for a home, whoever she finds is one lucky duck.
