Nine-year-old Maddie Humbert from Northern Kentucky was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2025 and has had two brain surgeries and is still on chemotherapy. Despite not being able to play in Little League this season, hundreds of people attended Grant County Little League's Opening Day to raise funds for her recovery. Chris Jump with the league expressed his pride in Maddie's involvement and the need to provide services for her family. All donations raised during the event will go towards medical care and other expenses.
