Bolwoningen, The Futuristic Dutch Sphere Homes

Dutch artist and sculptor Dries Kreijkamp has designed a series of spherical houses, known as Bolwoningen, which challenge traditional architecture with rounded, globe-like structures. The project was part of an experimental housing initiative supported by the government and was named 'bolweningen' by the name. The homes were built using cement and reinforced with fibreglass to be durable while maintaining a lightweight structure. Despite their unusual appearance, residents have found the unique environment both inspiring and peaceful. Despite being considered experimental, the homes have stood by their design for decades, demonstrating the enduring appeal of innovative design.
