Jeanine Pirro drops criminal probe of Jerome Powell

US Attorney for DC, Jeanine Pirro, has announced the closure of the criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. This decision would pave the way for Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump's nominee for the position. The Department of Justice launched the investigation in January after Trump criticised Powell for not lowering interest rates faster. Despite a federal prosecutor stating there is no evidence of wrongdoing, Pirro continued the investigation.
