Vasquez presses Pentagon on El Paso airport shutdown; cites FAA-DHS coordination lapses

New Mexico Congressman Gabe Vasquez addressed the House Armed Services Committee regarding the abrupt closure of the El Paso airport in February, citing a lack of coordination between the FAA and the Department of Homeland Security. Vasquez also secured a commitment from Department of Defense officials for a classified briefing on the incident. The FAA had previously announced a 10-day closure of El Paso Airport due to "special security concerns", but this was lifted after Congressional inquiry.
