The recent snowfall in Fargo-Moorhead, North America, has been labelled "heart attack snow" by health experts at Essentia who warn that it can be more dangerous than you might think. The increased water content in the accumulated snow can make it heavier and more taxing on one's heart. Ryan Telford, the STEMI program specialist atEssentia, suggests that those without regular regular exercise should be cautious about shoveling, especially those with less regular exercise. The weather also poses a threat to shovelers, as chilly temperatures cause arteries to narrow, limiting blood flow to the heart.
