Tierra Terry, the head women's basketball coach at Winston-Salem State University, has been named the Clarence “Big House” Gaines College Basketball Coach of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). The award is named after legendary Rams men’s basketball coach Clarence ‘Big House.’ Gaines, who led WSSU from 1946 until 1993 and won an NCAA Championship in 1967. Terry led the Lady Rams to a 28-4 record and their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth this season. She will be honored at the NSMA's 66th awards banquet on June 29, 2026.
