U.S. ITC won't allow Masimo to bring back the Apple Watch ban

The U.S. International Trade Commission (IET) has denied a request by Masimo to reinstate a ban on the Apple Watch, which was claimed to infringe on blood oxygen patents. This decision comes as part of a long-running lawsuit against Apple. The IET has ruled that the "Apple Redesign 2 Watch" which presumably employs Apple's software workaround, does not infringe the patents. The lawsuit began in 2020 and ended with a mistrial in 2023, but the IET case was won by Mesimo the same year, resulting in an import ban on any infringing Apple Watch.
