Kamala Harris is secretly milking California taxpayers to guard her book tour — but that could change

Kamala Harris' taxpayer-funded security will be removed if Republican Steve Hilton wins the gubernatorial race, according to Hilton. The former vice president has been using California Highway Patrol officers to guard her during her book tour. The state of California granted her protection after President Donald Trump ended his federal government security order in September. Despite not disclosing the number of officers assigned to Harris, retired CHP officer Tom Lackey described the cost of the protection as "significant". He argued that as California's former attorney general, Harris was entitled to protection if credible threats exist. However, a Secret Service threat intelligence assessment found no credible threat to Harris.
