The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly planning to release starting right tackle Jawaan Taylor before the start of the new league year if they cannot find a trade partner. Taylor, who was set to count for $27.4 million against Kansas City's books for the 2026 season, would incur a $7.4m dead cap charge and create an additional $20 million in space. His contract with the Chiefs began in 2023, following a four-year stint as the starting tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, issues arose immediately, with Taylor leading the NFL with 24 total penalties during his debut season with the team. The other four spots on the offensive line are well-established, with Josh Simmons at left tackle, Kingsley Suamataia at left guard, Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith at center and right guard.
