Many believe King has proven herself, having previously served as interim CEO following the firing of Pedro Martinez. If approved, King's starting salary is $380,000 per year. However, some critics believe King should have more Latinos in CPS leadership positions. The search for a new CEO was chaotic and prompted calls for new legislation to align with all stakeholders involved.
