‘Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender’ Director Says the Film ‘Deserves to Be Seen in Theaters’ After Paramount Moved It to Streaming: ‘The Movie Is Amazing’

Director Lauren Montgomery, the director of Paramount and Nickelodeon's upcoming "Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender" movie, has announced the end of production on the project, which marks the first animated feature in the "Avatar" franchise's history. The film's theatrical release was discontinued in December after Paramount announced it would be streamed on Paramount+. This decision was made in tandem with the greenlighting of a new “Avatar” television show, "Avarat: Seven Havens," also set to be broadcast on Paramount+.
