Chile's economy grew more slowly in 2025 than the previous year, despite returning to growth in the fourth quarter. Full-year GDP expanded 2.5%, down from a revised 2.8% in 2024. Despite this, the Finance Ministry stated that the economy was supported by domestic demand and grew slightly faster than the 2.4% forecast by the central bank. However, analysts predicted that the energy price spike and fiscal tightening planned under President Kast will cause the economy to weaken in the coming weeks. In 2026, Chile's economy is expected to grow by 2.3%, above the expected growth of 1.7%.
