Rosemount High School's Girls Basketball team secured their first state championship in their history with a 63-62 victory over top-seeded Hopkins in the Minnesota State High School League’s Girls Basketball State Tournament. The victory was the biggest in program history for No. 2-ranked Rosemount, despite some challenges in the final minute and key plays, led to a 10-2 run over the final five minutes of the game. Junior guard Gianna Carpentier made a three-pointer with four minutes left in regulation time to break a tie at 60-all, and then a minute later, sophomore guard Kaylee Digler gave the Irish the lead for good on another three-point shot. The win was part of a ten-2-hour run for the Irish, part of their impressive 10-minute run.
