New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has publicly apologized for his comments about Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and asthma during an interview with the "Bring the Juice" podcast. The 24-year-old running back was asked if he believes CTE is real, but his response was "no," an excuse. The comments were criticized by his mother, Becky, and the World Health Organization, who stated they were an attempt at humor. The study by the Boston University CTE Center revealed that over 40% of athletes exposed to repetitive head impacts from contact sports and died before age 30 were diagnosed with CTE.
