Man sentenced after being convicted in 2024 Old Louisville murder

Desmond Shaw has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Ja'Ron Starling, who was shot and killed in 2004. Shaw was convicted of murder, assault, criminal mischief, and theft by unlawful taking. The jury recommended a 35-year prison sentence, which he accepted. Despite not being eligible for probation or consciousness, Shaw will need to serve at least 20 years of his sentence before he can be eligible for parole.
