The business allows patrons to break items such as TVs, keyboards, printers, beer bottles, plates, and old phones for 30 minutes, with each person paying $70. The owner, Abby Varma, recommends these rooms for those seeking a safe outlet to vent their anger, comparing them to a therapy session. Despite their popularity, mental health professionals argue that while they may offer momentary relief and a cathartic experience, they are not an effective long-term strategy for addressing anger. Anschutzutz, a licensed psychologist and assistant psychologist at the University of Colorado, said that while there is no scientific evidence that rage rooms can help anger or frustration, they could reinforce aggressive behavior and lead to more aggressive behavior.
