Long Island wrestling star Dunia Sibomana-Rodriguez almost died as a child when a chimpanzee attacked him in his native Democratic Republic of Congo. The animals mauled his face, bit off his left middle finger, part of his right ear, destroyed a chunk of his left forearm and left other scars across the child's body. He was left severely disfigured and underwent about 16 surgeries. Sibamana arrived in America after the incident and lived with foster families both on Long Island and in Brooklyn. He has since won five Nassau County titles and three state championships.
