Dick Vitale, a legendary college basketball voice, has returned to the sport for the 2025-26 season after a yearslong battle with several types of cancer. He had been unable to speak due to the illness, which led to a long hiatus from calling games. Despite this, he managed to get back in the booth for a February 2025 meeting between Duke and Clemson. In June, he signed an extension with ESPN through the 2027-28 season, promising to continue his career. He also plans to be an analyst for the NCAA Tournament First Four on March 17 alongside Brian Anderson and Charles Barkley.
