The conflict in Iran has caused new shortages of gas supplies to Moldova's separatist Transdniestria region, threatening a repeat of the previous crisis a year ago. The region had been supplied with Russian gas through a pipeline that crossed Ukraine, but Ukraine authorities halted gas flow last year due to the ongoing conflict with Russia. Since then, the region has secured more costly gas from European suppliers. The disruptions have led to limits on usage for commercial purposes or thermal heating. The ministry said that hospitals and kindergartens would provide normal heating, but online forums urged parents to wear warm clothing.
