Brazilian midfielder Diego Gómez was injured during Brighton's 2-2 draw at Tottenham on April 18, causing him to fall awkwardly on his left leg during a match. The injury could be a significant setback for Paraguay ahead of the World Cup, which begins in less than two months. Goáz, who joined Brighton from Inter Miami in January 2025, has been a key player for the Seagulls and has scored 10 goals in 35 games for them. The Paraguayan national team will begin their World Cup campaign against the USMNT on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in California.
