Incoming: Copper Kings Burgers Heads Home To Oceanside

Copper Kings Burgers, a North County-based burger joint, is set to open a second location in Oceanside at the end of April. The restaurant was voted "Best Burger" in 2025's Best Restaurants issue and originally came up with the idea of a whiskey bar and burger joint. Founder Jonathan Petr and Dermot Owens originally planned to open their first location in San Marcos in 2023. The new location will be twice the capacity of San Marcos and act as both a second restaurant location and central kitchen. Initial operating hours will be Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 11a. to midnight.
