South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has appointed Park Hong-keun, a lawmaker from his liberal party, as the new budget minister. The appointment comes with praise for his role in the creation of the country's newly created budget ministry. The four-term lawmaker is currently a member of the National Assembly's Finance and Economic Planning Committee and previously served as floor leader of the ruling Democratic Party.
