India says developments in Gulf region cause 'great anxiety'

The U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and the crisis in the Gulf region have caused great anxiety for India, according to the country's foreign ministry. Some Indian nationals have already been killed or missing following the attacks, and the Indian embassy in Oman confirmed the death of an Indian national on board the Marshall Islands-flagged product tanker MKD VYOM. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has spoken to leaders of Arab countries and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the need for an early cessation of hostilities. The situation could pose a significant vulnerability to India if higher oil prices are sustained.
