The African Producers Accelerator (APA) has announced its participants for its 2026 edition, chosen from 267 applications across 31 countries. The initiative aims to address persistent industry barriers faced by mid-career African film and television producers. The participants will pitch their projects to selected film investors at a lab in Cape Town in July and again at CANEX WKND in Lagos in November. South Africa’s National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), the government film funding agency, has joined as a program partner. The program's backers also announced two new partnerships aimed at increasing support from leading African institutions.
