Tana French has concluded her trilogy of novels, “The Keeper” with a conclusion that follows the departure of Cal Hooper from Chicago to the small western Ireland town of Ardnakelty. The book follows 2020's "The Searcher" and 2024's ‘The Hunter.” Hooper had planned to settle down in small-town life on another continent to escape the stresses of being a police detective in a major American city. However, a body of Rachel Holohan, a young woman engaged to Eugene Moynihan, turns up and Hooper is drawn into a struggle for the spirit and future direction of Ardnekelty. French uses several mysteries to discover what has happened to Rachel Holoh, including whether it was a suicide or something else.
