Popular Fried Chicken Eatery Closes Nearly 10 GA Restaurants

Popeyes, a popular fried chicken restaurant, has filed for Chapter 11 in Georgia, joining a group of national restaurants that have also filed for bankruptcy. The closures are part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy by Miami franchisee, Sailormen Inc. The company, which operated at least 130 Popeyes restaurants, filed due to rising inflation and a decrease in customers. Additionally, the company has been hit by multiple vendor lawsuits regarding unpaid bills. Despite these setbacks, Popeyes President Peter Perdue maintains that much of the chain continues to be profitable.
