Victoria Mboko reaches Miami quarters, earns Roddick's Grand Slam backing

Former U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick has praised Victoria Mboko, a Canadian tennis player, for her rapid rise and potential for Grand Slam success. Mboko defeated Mirra Andreeva 7-6(4) 4-6 6-0 to reach the Miami Open quarter-finals. This follows Mboko's first WTA Tour-level win in Miami last year and a string of deep tournaments in 2026, highlighted by a fourth-round appearance at the Australian Open in January. Despite her losses at the recent Australian Open and Indian Wells, former Uoddick believes her physical strength and ability to handle big tennis stress tests outweighs concerns.
