Amazon's Echo Dot, a compact smart speaker that can easily fit on a countertop, bookshelf, nightstand, or desk, has been reduced to $40 on Amazon, a 20% discount from its regular retail price of $50. The latest version of the Dot features better-sounding speakers with clearer vocal sound and lower frequency response, and two sensors that detect motion and temperature. The device also supports lossless HD playback from Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Spotify. It contains both a temperature sensor and a motion sensor to create routines based on these variables. The price of the Echo Dot is $40 vs. $50, and it offers great performance as a speaker for music, voice commands, routines, and smart home functionality.
