Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer resigned amid an inspector general probe over alleged misconduct. Jeffries criticized Hegsetsh throughout his time in office, particularly during the Iran war. The FBI director is under scrutiny following a story alleging frequent drinking and absences from the bureau. Both officials could be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors by the House and removed from office via a two-thirds vote in the Senate.
