A Pocatello couple, Zachary and Megan Olpin, are facing multiple felony charges related to a violent incident at the East Idaho Aquarium on February 8, 2026. The incident reportedly occurred during a trip to the aquarium and resulted in a physical altercation with the girl, which was witnessed by witnesses and staff. While Zachary initially dismissed the injuries as accidental, new security footage revealed a more violent assault involving the girl's stepmother. The child was placed in the care of her grandmother and underwent a medical examination. If convicted of the Felony Injury to a Child charges, each could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
