Millions in central US brace for tornado outbreak

Severe thunderstorms are forecast for March 10 in the central United States from the southern Plains into the southern Great Lakes vicinity, potentially impacting large metro areas such as Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis and Kansas City, Missouri. Nearly 80 million people are at risk from severe weather. The storms come just days after deadly tornadoes swept across the central U.S. The states at greatest risk are Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Texas. The Storm Prediction Center warns of a potential high level of severe weather, with severe storms expected to last into the night, including a potential nocturnal tornadoes. Residents should identify the safest place to shelter in the event of a tornado.
