RFK Jr. restrictions on gender care, vaccines flailing in courts

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (R.K. Kennedy) has been hit by court challenges, including restrictions on gender-affirming care for minors and childhood vaccine recommendations. A federal judge in Oregon ruled Kennedy had overstepped his legal authority when he declared that providers of gender-transition medical treatments for minors ‘do not meet professionally recognized standards’ and suggested that hospitals, clinics, and providers that continue to offer gender-Affirming care to minors would be investigated and possibly barred from receiving Medicaid and Medicare funds. The ruling is pending. For now, health care services for transgender minors remain legal.
