The collaboration between the FM Symphony Orchestra and FM Opera is behind the curtain-raising of Giacomo Puccini, a celebrated Italian opera composer, is set to take place at NDSU Festival Concert Hall on April 25-26. The first half of the show will be dedicated to Pucci's "Il Tabbaro," a one-act tragedy by Puccin set in 1910, and the second half will be devoted to the composer's greatest music. Unlike traditional live operas, which often feature elaborate sets, scene changes, lighting sequences, and other theatrical delights, the concert-style setup means the orchestra will be onstage and in the action. The event will also feature selected works from Puccinis, including "Il tabbaro" and "Nessun Dorma" from "Turandot."
