Woman charged after 1-year-old found in feces covered York County home, deputies say

Laura Sowders, a 20-year-old woman from Benedict, is charged with felony child abuse after a child was found in a home in York County, Nebraska. The home was reportedly unsanitary and covered in trash and feces. An investigator from the York County Sheriff's Office found the conditions and conducted a walkthrough with Sowiders. The child was taken into custody by the Department of Health and Human Services.
