Lutheran High School's top-ranked girls basketball team won the Class 5A state championship over Green Mountain, a decision made by their new coach Robby Gabrielli. Despite a stifling defense and a poor shooting performance, the Lions managed to pull ahead 29-27. Junior forward/center Isla Koffman led the scoring with 16 points and a crucial steal late in the game. This win marks Luther's sixth state title under Gabriell, while Green Mountain finished the season with a 26-2 record. The game was played at the Denver Coliseum and both teams struggled in the first quarter.
