Oscars to Move Out of Hollywood After Over 2 Decades to a Downtown Venue in 2029

The Academy Awards will move from Hollywood to a downtown venue, L.A. Live, from 2029 through 2039. This move marks a departure from Hollywood's Dolby Theatre, which has hosted the Oscars since 2001. The Oscars will continue to be televised on ABC through 2028. The following year, the ceremony will be held in downtown Los Angeles and broadcast on YouTube for the first time. The Academy also announced a new partnership with YouTube between 2029 and 2033, with coverage of the Oscars available during this period.
