Colorado Democrats have overwhelmingly endorsed a challenger for U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper in the upcoming June primary election. The progressive faction within the party has pushed for a more progressive stance at the state assembly, pushing for changes to the party platform including "abolish ICE" and pledges to repeal Colorado's Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, tax the rich, protect trans students, and sue President Trump. The further left the Democratic Party may not appeal to unaffiliated voters and rural Democrats.
