Fugitive caregivers finally caught after disabled girl, 14, suffered horrific starvation death

A pair of caregivers accused of murdering a 14-year-old special-needs girl have been arrested in Washington state. The developmentally disabled girl was found unresponsive at her home in Live Oak outside Yuba City in 2025, with her death ruled a homicide due to starvation and neglect. The suspects, Megan Fredrick, 33, and Sherwood Johnson II, 37, face charges of murder and child abuse. The girl was placed under a feeding tube and required round-the-clock care.
