Bryson DeChambeau, a two-time U.S. Open champion who defected to LIV Golf when it began, expressed frustration at the course conditions at a tournament in Mexico City. He was filmed saying, "You got destroyed grass," before asking, "Oh, is this rough?" before he eventually hit a shot onto the green. DeChamebeau finished the day with an even 71 and tied for 29th place. Despite reports of financial issues with the Saudi-backed league, CEO Scott O'Neill refuted these claims, stating that the season continues as planned and at a "full throttle" with events.
