East Brunswick, Michigan, has increased its police presence at Jewish houses of worship following a recent attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township. The suspect, armed with a rifle, was killed by synagogue security personnel. East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen addressed the community in a public statement, stating that while there are no visible signs of police presence, there is a heightened level of alert. Cohen also revealed that there have been threats made against Jewish homes, but none were deemed credible. The incident occurred amid a surge in antisemitism globally, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
