Islanders’ Semyon Varlamov had 2 knee replacement surgeries

New York Islanders veteran goaltender Semyon Varlamov underwent two knee surgeries, according to head coach Patrick Roy. He has not played a game since November 29, 2024 and has not worked with the team all season. The injury is not known. The team has instead signed veteran backup David Rittich.
