Jason Mraz Releasing Gospel Album First Recorded for His Grandmother Nearly 20 Years Ago (Exclusive)

Jason Mraz is releasing his ninth studio album, Grandma's Gospel Favorites, which was originally recorded in 2007 as a Christmas gift for his grandmother, Mary Helen Mraz-Fowler. The project is being shared publicly in honor of Mraz, and arrives on May 8. The album, which includes original songs and covers classics like "Old Rugged Cross" and "It Is No Secret," was influenced by hymns and gospel songs Mraz grew up in rural Virginia. Longtime collaborator Noel “Toca” Rivera and Andy Powers of Taylor Guitars contribute instrumentation throughout the album. Mraz's career has spanned over two decades and he has received two Grammy Awards and a place in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
