Over 50 detained in Turkey raids targeting opposition offices

Turkish authorities have expanded their raids on the offices of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), detaining dozens of suspects in corruption probes in Istanbul and the southern province of Mersin. The suspects are accused of accepting bribes in exchange for unauthorized construction and unlicensed businesses to operate. The government has been accused of manipulating the courts to suppress the opposition. The parliament has also received requests to remove the legislative immunity of 12 opposition lawmakers, including the CHP's replaced leader.
